Greetings from Seattle

Postby SteveD » Tue Mar 07, 2017 8:00 pm

Hi,

I've been monitoring this forum for the past few months since I decided take up the classical guitar. My main instrument is the saxophone--alto and soprano. My decision to start playing guitar was based on the idea of using the instrument for understanding harmony and chord changes. It has been a little over a year since I made this decision. Since then I migrated from electric guitar (Squier Standard Stratocaster and Eastman T184-MX) to classical guitar (Yamaha G-180A). It's not so much that I like playing (or learning how to play) the classical guitar as it intriguing. I like the tone, I don't need electronics, it requires a technique that is different from the sax, and it's relaxing. Not to mention that it gives me a broader insight into music, how it's played and what I listen to.

-Steve
