...who left us 20 years ago on November 2 1996.

On Sunday I did the guitar part (naturally) in a tribute show for Eva.

Seriously seriously.

Won't post the link here (in fact is your link strictly speaking allowed???) but if you search for - songbird lucy martin - on YT you'll find our videos. The show on Sunday was shot but the footage is still all on the cameras.

She has been one of my favorites for years, and yes, she died much too soon. I think I read somewhere that the reason she was not marketed more was the fact that producers could not categorize her music or sound - everything she did sounded fresh and different. I have most of her albums and never tire of listening to her. Thanks Stephen for your link!

Well she refused to stick to one style of material, so naturally she was hard to categorise. Its usually too late that the unique category of genius is invoked.

We did our tribute programme again last night, at a local golf club; this time we got paid, but they still raised about £500 for the local hospital's cancer charity (logical) and again people came up with testimony of how Eva had touched them - starting with the club captain.
For us it really is like a chamber music thing, except the repertoire and the sonorities (except the violin) are rather different. That's how we approach it anyway.

I am stunned that I never knew of Eva. What an angelic voice, and such beauty in her delivery. Thanks for posting Denian.
