[Youtube] 19th C. guitar and piano duets

Post by DonaldSauter » Wed Nov 16, 2016 10:31 pm

Here is a Youtube playlist for 19th C. guitar & piano music including works by Amon, von Call, Carcassi, Carulli, Derwort, Diabelli, de Fossa, Giuliani, and Mertz.

I had posted notices in the Public Space under the subject line "Guitar & piano - a fine combination" as I put the videos up one by one. The idea was to alert guitarists to the fun to be had with this relatively unknown combination.

The "video" is in the music scores, so to speak. Links to PDF files of the scores are provided, so you may follow along, or play along if you want. You can see the complete collection of guitar & piano works I found at the Library of Congress at:

I recorded these pieces with pianist friend Elmer Booze in the early 1990s.
