Theremin

Post by Ramon Amira » Thu Sep 14, 2017 8:22 pm

Some years ago I posted a video of someone playing the Theremin. I still maintain that this is a serious instrument, capable in the right hands of rivaling the best of string instruments as well as being able to produce the kind of nuance generally only heard from the human voice.

The performer here is an interesting woman. She's also an accomplished violinist, and not a bad singer as well.

Wow. I can't say I understand how it works, but it looks easier on the finger tips if not on repetitive stress injury than guitar.
All this time I thought I was making music; it was making me.

An amazing and haunting sounding instrument. I love the sound it produces.

Even before looking at the video link I had a pretty good idea who were talking about. I subscribed to Katica's channel quite some time ago. I first encounter her while looking at tangos.
