The old edition had all these - are you sure they have been added to or are somehow different?

Hi,

You are of course right!

In my mind I muddled the new DVD in with the new version of the book.

Those techniques were covered in the previous book, but not on the DVD.

On the new DVD under "Flamenco Techniques" Scott discusses the Alazapua, and Rasguedo techniques.

I'll edit that in my ealier post so that it doesn't mislead anyone else reading it in the future.

I've tried to capture the 'chapter titles' from the DVD — No guarantees that they are perfect though! :D

They follow the Chapter headings, and sub headings in the book fairly closely, but not exactly.

Very happy to have found this post, as I had just purchased and received the first edition, not having noticed the second's availability. Fortunately, I'm still within the return period. Thanks again!

I know the feeling! :(

I bought the earlier edition very shortly before I realised that the 2016 edition was on the horizon.

Oh well! Such is life! :D

Is it more detailed about the basic free stroke or still just general?

Hi Robbie,

In the books, the sections on rest stroke are identical.

In the DVDs the basic information is pretty much the same, but delivered slightly differently — perhaps a little more detail.

Having had the book for a few days, I think it will be quite useful for working out some niggling technique issues. The videos are very well done. The book has a lot of typos, I guess there were a few pages added since the first edition, and a lot of the page references weren't changed. Not a big deal, but I would like to send Mr. Tennant an email with the corrections I've found, I'll try to contact him through his web site.

Is the video content identical to the original or did he re-do the video and add content?

It's a brand new 2016 video with some new content.
