Francesco da Milano- Ricercar (Fantasia) Ness 5

Post by Carey » Sun Oct 29, 2017 6:07 pm

Does anyone happen to know of a guitar transcription of this wonderful piece? I've had a look around but haven't found it so far.

Thanks-

There are quite a few Milano recercars arranged for guitar on the Musescore.com site, but not no.5 unfortunately. You can find a modern lute transcription (plus MIDI that would allow you to make your own arrangement without too much difficulty) on the gerbode.net site - it's listed as Milano 005.

Isn't it in the Chiesa book?

As far as I know the Chiesa books are out of print, or I haven't been able to find a copy, anyway.
I wonder how his numbering corresponds to Ness's.

I'm pretty sure Sarge Gerbode's numbering corresponds with Ness, so I'm hoping this is the one: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=115838#p1232780. I listened to the MIDI of the piece and liked it so much I decided to quickly do an arrangement - so there you have it!
