Thanks. I looked that up, and it's only available on Amazon for $40. Pricey! And it doesn't even state whether it's standard notation (I don't want tab).

And other sources seem to have discontinued it.

It is also included in Federico Moreno Torroba Guitar Music, ed. by Tomonori Azai (Zen-On, 2003)
And there is Russian compilation of Torroba works for guitar published in 1984 by Musica, Moscow (2nd Ed., ed. by Evgeny Larichev), it has Romance there.
The tricky part is, not all editions of Castillos de Espana contain all 14 pieces. Make sure you buy one with Romance included.

The price probably reflects the fact it seems to have been discontinued - at least (from memory) you get 7-8 pieces including some of his most beautiful ones. I think I’ve already learned about four from this edition.

It’s score only, no tab. High quality production with very legible printing and layout etc. It’s coming up to Christmas time, buy yourself a present!

Thanks again. It sounds like you have the book and like it, so your word is good enough for me.

Thanks, but I can't find either of those.

Thanks. I checked the site and I ordered it, but the number was GPS74, not GPS73, and the cost was $15, not $5. It appears to be the correct publication, so I don't know why the difference in the number, but thanks very much.

I just have to add this:

Not only is this a terrific classical guitar website in every category, but here is just another example of how great it is. I was looking for a piece of music that I couldn't find, I posted the name, and in a few minutes, someone found it for me. Super!

Having just checked GSP’s website you are both correct. :-)

They have GSP73, which is just the single piece, for $5 and GSP74, which is the collection of 8 pieces labelled as ‘The Castles is Spain, Vol 1’ for $15. I think you got a better deal buying the set. I think both Alba de Tormes and Torija are both lovely and really worth learning!

Is it worth pointing out that in Castles of Spain Romance de los Pinos is called Montemayor? I bought Volume 1 a couple of years ago and it was far cheaper than $40. I really enjoy playing all the pieces in Volume 1.

Volume 2 can only be recommended to those who are good at tremolo. This is possibly why Segovia never recorded anything from it.

Ok, that explains it. I just couldn't find number GSP73. Anyway, thanks again for the tip.

It’s money well spent to buy ‘Castles of Spain, vol 1. There are some lovely pieces in it including ‘Montemayor’ (Romance De Los Pinos ). At $15 it’s a bargain.
