My guitar orchestra plays Bach's Air

Postby Tuomas Kourula » Sun Feb 14, 2016 8:06 am

We made this video in our last week's rehearsal. What do you think of the tempo? I find that this piece is often played quite slowly, eight beats to a bar even. I like this piece with a little more movement

The tempo is a creative choice on your part. I like it fine! Others may not. It's wonderful to see young people making music like this. Great job!

Sounds wonderful! I'm not sure if the recording captures everything as it is, but to my ears its a definitely a good start to the piece.

Great job indeed. IMHO, the tempo is fine and appropriate for plucked instruments. It could be the recording, but the contrapuntal effect seems drowned by the dominating melody voice.

Tuomas,

Very well done! When is the CD coming out? Very tight sound and voicing especially the bass line, nice. I hope we can hear more from your group before the weather gets too nice.

The sound of orchestra is balanced and the tune(s) sounds fluid and full of live. I am agree with you, that the tempo should not be too slow, because the melody would sounds a bit.. who to say in English... so not as full of live and energy as it is.

Thank you for shearing, I also enjoy other videos of your orchestra
