Perhaps the seller can share with us his perspective and experience with this particular guitar.
Tom,

Certainly, I should have given some more information on the reasons for the sale. For me, it's sort of a bucket list of trying as many guitars as possible. Even when I acquire a guitar, I'm already looking out for the next one. I have a deposit down for an Ambridge that should arrive next year so was planning on holding on to the Rohe until then. But I see a '95 Ambridge online that I'm interested in acquiring, hence the reason for putting the Rohe up earlier than I planned. It's certainly not a knock on the Rohe, I'm sure I'll probably sell the Ambridge within a year's time as well.

This Rohe is excellent in quality build, sound, and playability. To give perspective, I've had the pleasure of owning Gutmeier, Sahlin, Kenny Hill, Hauser3, Ober, Fleta, Field, and Ramirez, among others. To me, the Rohe would only rank behind the Fleta and Ober. It's always tough selling such nice guitars, I do have seller's remorse sometimes but until I win the lottery I'll have to keep selling to get the next one.

I think one syndrome is closely linked to the other one.

I think GSS is something more commonly affecting the wives of players rather than players themselves. : ))

Hi Christian, Is the Rohe still available? If so, please send a photo of the top mark, I can't tell from the shot you posted. Also, I'm new to this forum (but have been a steel string collector/player for years) and don't know how to communicate with you personally rather than on the public site. Looking forward to your response. Donny

Donny,

You can send a PM. In the 4th picture I posted you can see the mark in the bottom center of the picture across the light reflection. The picture is upside down, so the mark is on the bottom of the picture but it is actually on the top of the guitar. I'm out of town for a coup,e of days but will try to get a better picture when I get home. But feel free to PM if you have other questions.

Hi Christian,

I am very serious and interested in purchasing your Rohé.
Is it still for sale?
I am located in the south of France but would pay of course for safe shipping.

Thanks for contacting me ASAP.

@Debussychopin

I saved ten years of waiting list :D and for me JNR reached already the top of french luthiers.
(I already had 2 Friedrich, and 2 Field)
His guitars are superlatives in every way.

Bertrand Ligier is walking in his footsteps.(Right now, only 3 years on the waiting list.. but it increases every year)

Best regards,

Would love to hear your thoughts on how the Rohe compares with Friedrich and Field

I tested the last guitar of Bertrand Ligier 2 weeks ago, and it 's true. This luthier will go far.
I also love the guitars of Jean-Noël Rohé.

Beautiful acquisition, JLV! And I await your impressions on this magnificent guitar.
JNR builds 7 guitars per year.

keep hope !
