"El Arpa del Guerrero"
I'm very happy with the way this guitar turned out. It's really a pleasure to play; free and open with rich basses and lyrical, singing trebles.
I asked Rudolph Fuchs to send me some really light/stiff European spruce. This is one of the soundboards I received from that shipment.
"El Arpa del Guerrero" also features elegant Madagascar rosewood that I re-sawed myself about 8 years ago. I've been keeping it in my private stash until I found just the right soundboard to pair it with. This Madagascar is perfectly quarter sawn and has fine grain. Sets like these are few and far between these days. Additionally, this guitar has an interesting curly Mahogany neck that is light weight.
Aesthetic appointments include flamed maple binding, bloodwood purfling around the soundboard, and three color herringbone purfling on the back, rosette, and head. The rosette is influenced by Torres style motifs. The 12 hole bridge has 10mm MOP dots on the wings, and a matching tie block cover. The saddle is compensated.
The tuning machines are Rubner brushed silver Hauser plates with ebony knobs, black rollers, and teflon bearings.
The soundboard has 3 closed harmonic bars in the upper region, 7 fan braces, and a slanted treble bar.
The guitar is French polish everywhere with the exception of the bridge which has an oil finish (Tru Oil).
Basic plywood case included. I can also get Humicases at a very good price with a new guitar, as well as other more boutique carbon fiber cases that are flight ready.
