Bach, J. S. - BWV1001 Fugue - Video

Post by Michael Butten » Mon Apr 03, 2017 6:20 pm

Hello all, here's a video of me practicing a J.S. Bach Fugue for a competition. Hope you enjoy! Apologies in advance for the big buzz at 4:24, slipped off the fingerboard... (And excuse the mess, we've just moved in!)

I enjoyed that.
We all slip of the fingerboard sometimes, repeat it and cut the wrong part out of the recording with something like audacity, pretty easy when you don't need to synchronize with video. The rest of the music sounds pretty fine to me, pretty difficult too. Thanks for sharing.

I'm confused. Am I the only one who sees this video totally out of sync? The music starts before the player begins. Then when the player begins I don't hear the music synched with what I'm seeing the player is doing.

You are not the only one. I also do not hear the slip.

Sorry about that, I cut the video and something weird seems to have happened where it cut the audio and not the video. Trying to sort it now.

Think I fixed it, cut it and re-uploaded it myself rather than leaving it to Youtube!

I love this piece. Thanks for fixing it. Tempo is perfect, which brings out the different voices clearly. Well played! Good luck in the competition!
