Bach, J. S. - BWV 1001 Siciliana

Post by owl » Sun Sep 14, 2008 6:29 am

Here we come to the third movement, Siciliana
Such wistful music... both in the listening and the playing... almost a feeling of 'saudade' one could say
Enjoy the gentleness of this piece

Joy in the music

Oh Owl! How beautiful!!!

I just got home from a gig and found this right away. Maybe I'll be the first to comment, but by the time I'm done typing someone will probably have beat me to it...

You had me in tears in the first 20 seconds!!!

You make this piece sound so "modern", like it could have been written yesterday!

I LOVE your use of rubato throughout, but esp. around the 2 minute mark. It just melted me!

You certainly got the feeling of "saudade". It's not a "Choro", but definately a "Bachiana"!

Thank you for the tears and melting...

:bravo:

Hello Owl,

This track is going to be heard a lot in my home today!

As always, I'm knocked out by your sensitive playing—thank you so much for this, I love your work,

Best wishes, V :D :applauso: :merci:

Now, Owl, we really see the gentle side to you!

And what a gentle side it is too! As always, you KO me with your playing and dedication.

This is lovely and I shall be playing this over and over for a while today.
I haven't formed any mental pictures yet, but Sicily, warm sun and a carafe of smooth red wine will do for starters. :D

Thank you again, Owl, for sharing your gift and soul with us. :discussion:

WOW!!
My dear Owl,
This is wonderful! So sweetly played and so much tenderness expressed.
I really love to listen to you play this beautiful masterpiece of the one of most magnificent composers in the history of the world. Bach would be very pleased to hear you play this, too.
Thank you for giving us another opportunity to enjoy listening to you perform so skillfully.
:merci:

Absolutely marvelous playing of a truly sublime piece of music. I'm on my second listen as I type. :casque:
Bach's harmonies are so full of musical meaning and you play them with a true musician's understanding.

Thanks, Owl. Tenderness is definitely the word that comes to mind, but I see Kay has beaten me to it. Anyway, I loved it, as I knew I would.
