Bach, J. S. - BWV 0543 Prelude

Post by ricstang » Wed Oct 27, 2010 1:48 am

Hi All,

I have begun recording an album of my favorite Bach Preludes, and I thought I would post a few familiar ones as a little taste. The album will consist entirely of Preludes written for Clavier, Organ, Lute, and Cello, as well as a couple Chorale Preludes, and should be available on iTunes by early December.

This will be the last 'freebie' I'll post here. I would have stopped by now, but I just finished this one and I couldn't not share it with you Delcampers...

This is my arrangement of "the Great Prelude" for organ, BWV 543, in A Minor. This took more hours of intensive work than anything I've ever arranged and prepared, and I hope it was worth it. You'll have to be the judge of that...

As always, thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy! :casque:

:bravo:
That was great, ricstang. It's the first time I hear it. Sounds as if it was composed for guitar.
Thanks,
Albert

Thanks Albert, I think you're right! A lot of Bach's pieces sound that way to me, although I'm sure I'm a little biased...

Only one comment ?

Come on, this is a transcription of one the greatest work for Organ by one of the greatest composer who ever lived !
The only other transcription I know of this piece is for piano, by Liszt...

That was amazing !

You don't have the kind of tone I prefer (but I'm almost never 100% satisfied with tone) but that was amazing. Thanks so much (:
It would sound even more awesome on an 8 strings Brahms guitar/10/13 strings guitar.
Cette dernière trahison m'a été également reprochée. Ce que je trouve à répondre, c'est:"merde aux conventions!"

Wow. Some of the best Bach on guitar I've ever heard.

A lot of them were definitely written for plucked stringed instruments, ...close enough eh?

Great recording

Probably not the score for this recording, but I found this doing a search.

Well apparently the link was not allowed. Do a search for BWV 543 Prelude Class Clef.

Thank you, found it! It is another short version in A-minor.
