Sor, Fernando - op.50 Le Calme, Caprice - Video

Post by Rui Namora » Sun Apr 10, 2016 12:26 am

Hello!

Here is a recording of a Sor Caprice, Le Calme, op.50.
A late and mature work, where the form and lyrism are particularly well balanced.

Rui Namora, guitar (Foetisch Frères, early XXth)

Sor’s music is seldom easy to play. When done well, it has a graceful ease. But only a very good player can make it sound that way. Thus, the guitarist who succeeds in doing so often doesn’t get the recognition he or she deserves.

The Op. 50 is on my wish list. If I can do it in a manner comparable to what you’ve done, I’ll be pleased.

Well done.

That's an ambitious piece Rui. Thanks for sharing it here.

Stunning performance, Rui!

:bravo:
There is nothing more beautiful than the sound of a guitar - maybe aside from that of two guitars (Frederic Chopin)

Fantastic, really ! :bravo:
Phrasing is good, stunning sound. Sure this is Sor's on romantic mode and one of my favorite.

Congratulations!
