Sor, Fernando - op.35/04 Exercice - Video

Postby Juergen Schenk » Fri Sep 13, 2013 7:03 pm

Youtube

The "Vingt Quatre Exercices Très Faciles" op35 are standard repertoire for guitar students. No.4 is one of my favourites although it's rarely heared.
Played on a Stauffer replica built by german luthier Bernhard Kresse, Cologne.

What a charming piece.
And well played Juergen !
For some reason, I've never taken a look at it... but I will, for sure.
Thanks.
I went up into the attic and found a Stradivarius and a Rembrandt.
Unfortunately Stradivarius was a terrible painter and Rembrandt made lousy violins.

Juergen,
Thank you for posting the Sor Op 35 #4. I love playing Sor's Op 35. I always had the feeling that there is more music in the easier exercises than what I am able to get out of it, and your recording helps me understand in what directions to work to make the interpretation more interesting, varied, and alive. Thank you.

:bravo: Wonderful! This is a treat. I agree that No. 4 should be heard more.

Beautiful. I agree with Yisrael that you demonstrate that these studies can be allowed to demonstrate musicality.
