I need Delcamp’s help! BBC Music Magazine Award 2018

Post by Sean Shibe » Mon Feb 05, 2018 1:58 pm

Hey Delcampers,

I wanted to let you know that my debut recording, ‘Dreams & Fancies’ has been shortlisted for the Instrumental Category of the 2018 BBC Music Magazine Awards, which is decided by the public. This is one of the most prestigious classical CD award sequences, so a huge deal. I’ve been cruelly placed alongside Krystian Zimerman, so I really need all the help I can get! If you have any time to spare then I’d be so grateful if you could go through two clicks needed to vote. Vote here: http://awards.classical-music.com/

The album comprises recordings of music by English composers (Dowland, Arnold, Walton, Britten) and has been receiving really great reviews. If you haven’t yet, you can, of course, listen to the album on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/album/0vgiFS3e ... r6CBuZxmBg
And Apple Music here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/dream ... 1246375807

Finally, I just want to say that you should, when it comes to it, vote for what you like the most. There are two other recordings competing for this prize: an ambitious and virile commissioning sequence for works to partner the Bach Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin; and Krystian Zimerman’s first recording in 25 years.

Please do listen, enjoy, and again, vote :)

Done! I thought it might only be for UK residents, being the BBC magazine, but it seems my vote got through too.

Good luck

I voted for you too, but only after listening to the Dowland Fantasy. Good luck.

Awesome thanks guys. It’s open worldwide yeah - being in the uk makes you eligible for a set of all the recordings shortlisted, which is around 20 CDs.

I voted early on in that thread. Tough competition, certainly. I listened to each entry.

Sean's playing highlighted the greatest strengths of the guitar.. gentleness and intimacy. And in a piece that demands hot technical playing as well.

Got my vote.
