The movie "Mangoré, por Amor al Arte"

Post by bodhisattva » Thu Mar 07, 2019 9:59 pm

I had been waiting for a long time for the DVD release of the Paraguayan movie "Mangoré, por Amor al Arte" directed by Luis R. Vera. I'm looking around, trying to buy a DVD of the movie that has English subtitle. However, I'm feeling less enthusiastic after seeing many disappointing reviews about the movie. Has anyone in this forum watched the movie? How do you think about it? Is it good or not?

Seems the DVD is available from Amazon, and there's a streaming version too.
There are too few reviews though, think I will give it a try. Thanks for mentioning :)

I watched it on Amazon prime, it's a very disjointed, clumsy bit of film making. If I were not a guitarist and a fan of Barrios I would have turned it off after 10 minutes. Having said that, my life is no worse for having watched it. It's not a film that anyone who is not a guitarist would enjoy.
