I'm wondering if there is any classical guitar society or club in Edinburgh, Scotland? The final year of the degree is stressfully coming and I'm trying to find a club to give myself a good reason to leave the house/office during this rainny summer time :D
Hi Dora - did you find anything about a local Edinburgh society? I've not found any reference to a society as such, but I've found that there are a couple of ensembles for classical guitarists in town (not what I'm looking for at the moment, but thought the links might be useful for you).

Hi Craig,
Thanks a lot for the info. I don't really fancy the idea of guitar ensemble though...

Thanks for the information. I have added your links to the master list at the beginning of this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47231.

Hello everyone.
I’m getting back into playing after a long layoff. I now live in the Raleigh NC area and was wondering if anyone knows of any clubs, societies or groups in the area. Maybe even some stores that specialize in CG. All I have been able to find around here is GC, SA, and MF and the classical selection is bleak.
Thanks
Daniel

Thank you. With all my searching this never came up.

Good afternoon,
In Bethesda, MD< USA, we have a wonderful organization, called "Adult Music Student Forum" http://www.amsfperform.org/index.html
It is created for amateur musicians.
It is not specifically fro guitar, but it includes amateur guitarists also.
The most important, it provides recital opportunities for all levels of amateur musicians, which is very nice :-)
Best,
Olga

Lynda, the Lanarkshire Guitar & Mandolin Society centred on East Kilbride, has a guitar and mandolin orchestra, Da Capo Alba. As it happens I play with Da Capo and we have our annual Glasgow West End Festival concert this coming Saturday - viewtopic.php?f=32&t=120124. Do come along, if you are free, and have a word with some of us about what goes on. We meet for rehearsals every Wednesday night in East Kilbride and have members from far and wide. Our next foreign tour is in the planning - hopefully Berlin/Dresden next summer. :D

The Accidentals is an Edinburgh Guitar Orchestra, and EMGO (Edinburgh Mandolin & Guitar Orchestra) is the Edinburgh equivalent of Da Capo. The Central Scotland Guitar Group is a small dedicated group meeting two evenings monthly in Linlithgow. I do not know of any groups in Glasgow itself.
