Wow, just wow! That is one of my absolute favourites too, one that I fear I will never master though.

You say you returned to the guitar just recently and that you played more than 30 years ago. That is so inspiring to me since I just returned myself after more than 20 years. May I ask how long you played before your absence and how long the gap was before returning?

I ask because that is some of the best playing I have seen so to think that one can return to that level in just a year is truly inspiring!!

:bravo: :merci:

Hi, thanks very much to all!
First, the Sevilla piece I performed already in 1976. So this was not new to me.

But this is the whole story: I learned and played from 12/13 years to 19 (but indeed very intensely) and then while military service, university studying etc. I played occasionally without improving the playing up to the age of about 30. Then work/ children etc. So there was nearly no opportunity to play and I stopped. I began playing with 49 in August 2008 after we got this room you see in the videos (It's in the basement where originally an oil tank was installed but I love this room most in the house :D ).

Some pieces are really harder than 30 years ago since my left wrist has not the condition it had earlier. But on the other side some things are better today.
So, it's a mix and most important: It's never too late !!!

Best wishes
Andi

Hi thanks very much! :merci:
No I am not a teacher. I did not study music or guitar. I learned it during my schooldays.

Hi Andi. Thank you for a very accomplished recording of a very difficult piece. I enjoyed it very much.May I also take this opportunity of congratulating you on your fluent command of written English. Obviously a man of many talents. :merci: :bravo:
Chopin used to sleep with wooden wedges between his fingers to increase their span--now there's a thought !

You are very kind. Thank you!!! :merci:
But indeed the reality is that I have my translation website (dict.leo.org). On the homepage they write about the millions of queries each day. Certainly the number (normally 7-8 millions per day) is true but I think 100.000 are from me! :(

Very nice playing but have a look again at the rhythm in the opening melody , there are parts where it should be dotted quaver semi-quaver which you play as just quavers . Great tone .
