Yes really nice both ways. Who played the nails versions?
How about the third way... gut with nails as Tarrega would have played in his earlier years. Segovia too, come to think of it.

Exactly - or basically any classical guitarist before nylon was developed in the 1940's.

I played the nail versions as well. Thanks for checking it out!

The only silk/gut set I see at stringsbymail.com is Pyramid's at $99 per set. How long do they last?

Fantastic! Very warm and thick tone. Phrasing was beautiful, very well done.

Thanks for the recording! This was very beautifully played. I love that no-nails sound.

Beautiful sound. Do you lose volume playing without nails? Do the tips of your right hand fingers get 'tougher' over time like the left?

I haven't seen Kacper around here for some time so I'll take the liberty and answer for him if that's ok :)
You can get the same amount of volume without nails...it just takes time to build up the technique.
Many steel string players would say that your right hand fingertips need to get callused like your left hand. This is a misconception for classical playing. You want them to be as soft and supple as possible. I use Aveeno moisturizing lotion on mine every day.
