Post by rtong77 » Thu Dec 07, 2017 1:14 am

Hi all,

I saw the Bernardo Romero's guitar at the GuitarSalon by chance.
But I can't find a sound sample.

Hi,

I had never heard of this maker till your post. If seems he is a grandson of pepe romero and a very new builder if the internet is to be trusted. A youtube video from 2015 features his first flamenco and comments that he had already build 3 classicals. That suggests that he has built (or at least build and signed) maybe 20-30 guitars* to date so the chances of finding someone here that has played one is not very high.

edit: * I suspect fewer.

I met Bernardo this summer with his grandparents in Granada. The fact that he was attending the trials of the guitars entered in the Antonio Marín Montero guitar-making competition speaks highly of his interest in the guitar. I understand that he spent some time in the workshop of Granada great Juan Miguel Carmona too. Of course his lineage is impeccable so we have great hopes for him. If the price is appropriate for a newcomer to the scene, go for it!
