Vicente Sanchis model 8

Post by mrdarcy » Thu Dec 14, 2017 6:49 pm

I saw a second hand Vicente Sanchis model 8 guitar, a bit aged, around €300, but can't find any information about it. Do you know something about this guitar?

Not sure about the model 8. I have a contrabass from them that I like very much. It should be made in Spain but would depend on ago. Founder was supposed to have worked with Esteso.

Stil haven't found much info, none at all about this model, not even if it is for flamenco or classical. Guess I'll have to try it out next time...

I found an auction post from a couple of years ago. Mahogany b/s and rosewood fingerboard. No price as the auction has ended.

Vicente Sanchis is one of two factories in Valencia that have their roots in the fabrica Ricardo Sanchis Nacar founded in 1915. It was sold in the late 1990s. The description of the model 8, with mahogany back and sides and a rosewood fingerboard, suggests this was one of their entry level models, made to be affordable. Originally would have sold for under 100 Euros (in todays currency).
