Pimentel Guitar

Post by Mark Stanley » Sat Jan 20, 2018 4:46 am

Hi guys
I have an opportunity to buy a 1974 cedar Pimentel Classical Guitar handcrafted by Lorenzo Pimentel.

I am a learner player in Australia and only know a little bit about them from reading things online.

I could probably get it for around $850 USD. It’s in great condition.

I’m playing a 94 Vincente Sanchis model 29. What would your thoughts be about such a purchase. Would I be upgrading?????
Love to hear your thoughts

Thanks
Mark

Use your heart and ears. If you have the money and want a secondary guitar with a different sound characteristic then it could be a nice fun instrument.

It is nice to have contrast in guitars...be it warm or bright.

I don't have experience with Pimentel. But I do know it's important not get hung up on chasing the maker recognition as the motivation of buying a guitar.

You have to like what you hear.

The price is certainly attractive. I have sold a good number of Pimentel guitars over the years-- and most go for significantly more. I know we have some listed in our archives, and certainly have at least one 1985 Lorezo Pimentel recording in our mp3 files.
