I had one of his single top "Super Concert" models several years ago. It was the loudest, most orchestral sounding guitar I have ever heard...for a few weeks, then notes started dying on the 1st string. It got so bad that I sent it back to him. He replaced the top, and the new version was even worse. He agreed to refund my money minus about $750 for his time and trouble to re-top it.
Hi John, sorry to hear about that. But can you explain what you mean that the notes started to dying on the 1st string? It's a bit hard to imagine.

By the way, what year was it?
The notes started losing sustain starting around the 10th fret. As I recall, the high F# and a few others almost sounded as if I were playing them pizzicato before I returned it! I think it was a 2006 or so.

If my memory serves me right, the state of Kalifornia even attempted to charge you sales tax. Talk about rub salt into one's wound.

Yes, it did. I think I had to pay it in the long run.

He said he tried a slightly different bracing design on my guitar. He also thought it might be a humidity problem, but I don't think that was the cause.
If he tries a different bracing pattern to what has been successful for him ,then he should be all in for any repairs .

I was thinking the same thing, but once they have your money they get to decide what to return. Also, the shipping would have eaten up a few dollars
Getting better bit by bit, day by day.
