Maple guitar.

Finishing the maple/spruce DT. The sealer-ground for the body is “Magister” dutch varnish, and for top shellack.

I hate those teasing pictures that have you wanting to see more.

The guitar is already finished? It looks great, but I have this doubt, the guitar is not varnished yet or that is a matte varnish.

No, is not finished yet. As much I like the look of mat or satin finish, I know that it will be hard to sell it. I am thinking to finish only the top satin and the rest shiny. I’ll post more pics with the progress of the work.

Beatiful!! Forgive my ignorance but do you scrape the surface area under the bridge to bare wood before you glue the bridge on?

Very nice in all aspects. I like the rosette so much and the headstock is quite beautiful!

Thank you all. Regarding the bridge, yes, I remove the finish before glueing.

Every bit of your design is unique.
Traditional shell motif head plate is especially impressive.
And some Spider man? Ha Ha!
Thanks for posting. :merci:

Beautiful. Did you sun tan the wood before finishing?
