Where to get a used Kohno Guitar?

Post by powermrk » Sat Mar 09, 2019 5:06 am

I am wondering where the good place is to get a used Knhno guitar, especially those 60's vintage Kohnos?

Thanks!

How about right here on Delcamp? A member is selling a 1966 No. 4.

Given where you live, I would suggest you look towards Japan. Check out e - b a y or equivalent. From what I have read here it seems that older Japanese guitars are relatively undervalued in the Japanese market so there could be bargains to be had. It partly depends on how your local tax people look on imports from Japan.

I live in Hong Kong, and I also sometimes check out yahoo auction for new listings.

I have a Kohno 50 in excellent condition. I cannot ship it oversea because of the Brazilian rosewood back & sides.

It is very sad to see many people still live in such fear which are blown up by the trader intentionally for their own benefit. I have shipped many brazillian guitars in and out of US without a single problem.

At the risk of sounding like a prude, I will submit that it would still be illegal to export BRW without a permit regardless whether I could get caught. It's not worth the hassle for me even if the probability is very low. Yep, all it would take is an overzealous custom agent.
