My guess would be Brazilian.

I would also guess Brazilian. What do the sides look like?

Based on the look and the fact that it is a 1a, I'd definitely say its BRW. I've played a Cedar/BRW 1a from around that period. Had beautiful woods, but wasn't all that impressed with it however.

If I were betting then I would say madegascar but I don't really think it is possible to identify it from these pictures alone. It might be something completely different. The only thing I can confidently say is that it is a very beautiful hardwood.

Can we have a pic of the label? If it's a Sherry Brenner 1A, it's most likely BRW.

Brazilian. Madagascan rosewood has a characteristic grain look on the flatsawn surface that this doesn’t have.

Looks like BRW to me as. Can you use a nail to scratch through the sound hole with a fingernail the lack of the smell might not tell you anything but if you catch the BRW smell that will give more confidence in the guess.
