Friederich-style guitars

Post by tobymcwilliams » Sun Apr 07, 2019 5:08 pm

Hello, I’ve always admired Daniel Friederich’s guitars, but I dont know that I could ever afford one. Does anyone know of makers or companies that offer a good “Friederich-style” or “Friederich-inspired” Guitar at a price that a non-collector can afford? Doesn’t have to be an exact copy of a Friederich, just a way to get close to a Friederich at a fair price. Thank you, Toby.

Martinez has a Friederich model called df-69, about €1600. There also seems to be a new affordable version, df-69 retro. This has a laminated body and only costs €500 or so. Both models have an elevated fretboard.

Toby,
Here is my thread about Giovanni Tacchi who currently build a Daniel Friederich replica for me. Giovanni is son of one of the best living guitarmaker - Andrea Tacchi, and his replica is based on 2008 Daniel Friederich guitar.
Hope this helps.

tobymcwilliams, where do you live? I have a "Daniel Lesueur", who worked next door to Friederich in the 70s and 80s. You will find sound examples on youtube. Send me a message if this is of interest to you.
