Post by Music777 » Wed Jul 26, 2006 12:06 pm

i know it's a strange question, but i really don't know anything about lutes.
What is the standard tuning of a lute (i need to transcribe a song)

thanks!

It depends on the composer and the period (year) and how many strings were on the lute the piece was written for. I have quite a lot of lute tablature in digital format... Maybe if you tell me which piece or composer it is, I can help.

wow, i didn't know it was that complicated...
actually, all I had to do was transcribe 'what then is love but mourning' it's very short and easy...
And since I told our conductor it would take a while, he decided to envite a luthier instead of transcribing it for guitar! if feel 'disposal' :D

thanks for helping me out anyway!

love
