Oh... that is a sad picture. Well, it makes ME sad anyway. Fed Ex is horrible. They're the idiots who left my copy of Modern Times at the wrong door to.get rained on, and it's not the first problem I've had with them. I never have these issues with UPS.

That’s a bummer! Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago, a guitar arrived from Camps guitars with a nice split on the top. Camps were great and replaced it within a week. Will Hernandez repair it or do a new build?

Oh, it's deeply sad. I'm sorry for myself, for the luthier, everyone at the Juan Hernandez company.

It's not a difficult repair, though, and when I get it back it will be perfect...unless FedEx get their hands on it!

Right, FedEx off my list of companies I will ever use for guitars unless they can prove it was something / somebody else that was at fault!

Until these companies realise that bad press will hurt them in their pocket they will continue to treat valuable cargo indifferently.

I'm glad the J Hernandez company will take care of it but I'd hope they use a different shipping company this time.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Now I'm scared. I've got my new direct-to-console digital rig for electric guitar coming today, the seller shipped it Fed Ex, and it is POURING rain out. I'm at work so my BF is going to watch for the truck for me and rescue my new equipment. If they'd put it on the front porch like every other company I wouldn't have to worry.

Okay, Juan Hernandez are being really good about this. They have filed a complaint with FedEx, and fully expect the guitar to be returned to them for a total repair. However, they are on holiday for the month of August, so I probably won't be able to play the guitar before October. But there are worse things going on it the world, and we will get it sorted. Patience.

You've waited this long. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end!

The picture of the box didn't look that bad to me. Is it possible that it's hasty to blame FedEx and that the crack is due to other reasons?

That's my thought also.

Rob, can you take another pic of the box from further back that shows the extent of the damage to the box? You said no damage to the case. How snug does the guitar fit in the case? Does guitar move fore and aft? How much padding is on the bottom of the case? Does the bottom of the case feel smooth or is there a lump (where the crack is) that could have caused that kind of damage if the box was dropped?

Well that's a kick in the beans.... Sorry to hear that. I was excited by the thought of listening to your first recording on the new mini-harp. Good to hear that the Mfg/Builder is stepping up for you. Here is hoping it comes back to you whole and sooner rather than later.

Oh no! After all the excitement you had seeing the build in progress. What a terrible disappointment, I'm glad Juan Hernandez are on the case and will repair it.

I had a Rio back crack after just a week due to sudden low humidity, the repair is completely invisible. I am sure yours will be too.

Dude, Rob, you have my deepest sympathy.

My stomach dropped when I saw that picture. I would have been so very deeply upset to open up something like that.

Really glad it's gonna get taken care of for you.

I wonder what the heck happened.
