Greetings from a very cool (& grey, windy, damp) place

hello all,

I live in Edinburgh, I started playing classical guitar about 60 years ago, and I am now about second-year standard (well, I do get distracted... Scottish folk, klezmer, Greek & balkan music, on mandolins, banjos, percussion, basses, etc...). I actually stumbled onto the site by looking for sheet music for "Tatavliano Hasapiko". For information, this is an Ottoman/Greek tune; Tatavla is a suburb/part of Istanbul, and "Hasapiko" derives from the Turkish word "xasap" meaning butcher. The dance is a Greek "Urban" folk dance, typically danced by groups of three, using a shoulder hold, and relying on precise communication & matching choreography.

I found this site remarkably difficult for registration & posting a first message! I gather that I will probably be expelled unless I post regularly... Is this the Fort Knox of the classical guitar repertoire. I ask myself?

Pav, in the Edinburgh "New Town"
(well, it was new about 1780-1800...)
