Good morning from Edinburgh

Good morning from Edinburgh

Hi all,
Deep breath, posture, left hand, right hand and... go!
I am a 62 year old retired beginner who has owned and messed about on folk acoustic guitar for 50 years or so. In truth hadn't touched my guitar for years. Bought an accordion 10 years ago and took lessons for 5 but a combination of bad teacher bad student ended that.

And here we are. In the dark months of winter i bought a cheap classical guitar on a local for sale site. Back to basics and try to unlearn my old bad habits. Terrible machine but just enough to get me going and with helpful YouTube, thisisclassicalguitar and other sites got really interested. Last month I finally traded my 45 year old epiphone `jumbo` and the banger for a nice (I think) used Prudencio Saez 20 which sounds
a million times better than my other one.

I have found i can spend 3 or 4 hours a day practice (with breaks)and more and have no idea where the time goes. It's a steep learning curve and my only anxiety is I don't have enough life left to get as good as i want to be!

Musically, anything with a lovely melody I'm afraid.

Have a great day!

Hi Ian. Welcome to the forum (from Glasgow). We have a number of members from Edinburgh, some of them teachers. Maybe having a few lessons from a specialised classical Guitar teacher would be an idea worth considering.

But first, please have a look at our welcome page for more information about the forum and its rules. Once you have posted a second message you will be able to access all the mp3 files and videos in our recording sections, all the members' scores and levels 1 - 3 of the Delcamp score collection, and post your own scores and recordings. After 20 posts you may subscribe to the 020 usergroup with associated membership privileges including access to the higher levels of sheet music in Delcamp's library (see here).

It is helpful if members include their location in their Profile - click on your username and edit.

Enjoy your visits.
