Hello everyone!

I'm thinking of getting back to classical guitar again. It's pretty much the story of my life to have long breaks from the guitar playing but I guess it's not so rare. I'm now 30 years old and I have been playing from the age of 11, but my level is only somewhere between beginner and early intermediate I think. My best pieces have been probably Maria Luisa by Sagreras or Tarrega's Lagrima.

I don't currently resources to hire a teacher, but I took private lessons still couple of years ago. I can really see the benefit of having a teacher. A great teacher keeps you motivated with interesting pieces of music and the weekly training sessions keep up the regular training.

My latest break started after my guitar teacher changed and the new one wasn't really motivating for me. He was maybe little bit too advanced teacher for me or something, but somehow every lesson ended up to nitpicking how some one note was played exactly correct by muting one other string with another finger. Maybe it was my fault, but I just didn't find this relevant for my interest of playing.

I also started to develop problems with my left hand forearm as the teacher advised to rotate my forearm to get more power for my legatos. I might also have had too much pressure in my left hand playing in general, but my left forearm got painful and over-strained. After six months of rest and some physical therapy sessions it was okay, but it was kinda difficult time, because I could not play guitar but I couldn't train in the gym either which is my another dear hobby.

Anyway, I have lots of musical pieces from my lessons to train again now and I think my main goal is to develop my left hand technique to the direction of more relaxed playing and minimum pressure so that my forearm problems don't come back.
