Hello everyone, Good to be here! Posting from NYC.

My name is Nick and I've been playing guitar in one form or another for almost 18 years now. Though I've always flirted with learning a classical piece here and there, about 5 years ago I discovered the great Brazilian maestro, Heitor Villa-Lobos. His music inspired me to work at learning like no other. I'm proud to have memorized several of his best known guitar pieces and since branched out to learning a few pieces by Albeniz, Tarrega, Granados, and Barrios. Just recently, I began the titanic undertaking that is Villa-Lobos' 12 Etudes and it occurred to me that if I was to be successful I would need to get far more serious about classical guitar. Up until this point I have been self taught and playing on a (much beloved) steel-stringed Martin D-16. I am currently in the process of looking for a good local teacher and hope to purchase my first nylon-stringed instrument in the near future. This board has always been a great resource and I look forward to being an active participant in discussions!
