Greetings from Vancouver, Canada

What an amazing site, I'm glad I found this!

I'm 20 years old, international student from Indonesia, hence the last name, started to play acoustic guitar 6 years ago, electric guitar 4 years ago, and classical guitar 6 months ago. I self taught my self but I also got a lot of help from a friend of mine during my first month of playing in junior high school. My first guitar was a Yamaha C-315 (got it brand new for $65 Canadian, a present from my mom) but I started with acoustic playing style and ended up with rock and blues. Then, after going through a journey of musical experience on Spotify I found my true love in classical music. :D

Since then, classical music has been my major interest. Fast forward to 6 months ago I decided to start a fresh journey on classical guitar with my firend's La Patire Etude and I'm in love with it. Currently working on El Testament d'Amelia after finished learning Lagrima and Adelita. Finally next week I'm going to pick up a secondhand Yamaha CG 151 S from a guy on craigslist for $160 Canadian with hard case included. :P

My current favorite pieces are David Russell's interpretation of Granada by Isaac Albeniz and Tatyana's Fantasia La Traviata by F.Tarrega. My other interests include sports, reading, programming, playing games.

Looking forward to learn a lot from this site!
I hope my English is not confusing :)

Greetings Abel
Jules here, a fellow Vancouverite...Actually Surrey at the moment and working in Burnaby and grew up in North Vancouver but that is beside the point. I am also new to this site and have decided to take the free guitar lessons starting in level 1. Even though I have been playing for a while I too am self taught and wanted to unlearn whatever bad habits I taught myself and indeed I find these beginning exercises/assignments while easy in a sense to none the less be challenging to master. Anyway welcome to the site.
