Greetings from Nitin, India

Post by ntnk » Mon Feb 12, 2018 8:54 pm

Hi,

I am a guitarist and a keyboarding. I built a guitar when I did not find a guitar without defects. I am a learning luthier. I have built a classical guitar. I started with playing Keyboard when I was 5, I use to play the melodies till I was 12, self taught. Just when I learned about chords my keyboard broke then bought a guitar, without a teacher to teach me. So I designed a way to tune the guitar so the notes of the chord are close by and can be held with a hand. I tuned it as EADGCF from sixth to first. and played a lot many solos from a band called 'Indian Ocean' :casque: Later from a friend I learned the first string is also E. My elder brother told me shapes for a few chords and I corrected it all to the standard tuning.

Then when I was 16 I found that there are guitar that have nylon strings. So went to the only shop in my city to buy nylon strings. They told it does not fit well with a steel string guitar. Few years later I came to Mumbai, bought a nylon string guitar.

Then found all guitars in town had serious defects in intonation. So I thought of building a guitar. And learning this art.
Now I am looking for internship from learned luthiers.
