- Type / luthier: Amalio Burguet Classical Guitar Estudio Model (Serie No. 0453)
- Year of construction: 1996
- Scale length (mm): 650mm
- Nut width (mm): 51mm
- Action at the 12th fret: 4mm (Top E) / 5mm (Low E)
- Top: Cedar
- Bracing (fan/lattice/other): Fan
- Back / Sides: Mahogany
- Fingerboard / (bridge): Ebony
- Sound: Good bright trebles, bass is warm but not booming. While not as refined a sound as found on higher end Burguet models, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound that came out when I played this recently (good dynamic range and capable of warm and bright tones) .
- Condition: There are a few dings (on the soundboard near the bridge, on the headstock and on the back) - I have taken photos of these. Some of the tuners are quite stiff - I'm not sure if this is the machine heads themselves or the tuners. Might be possible to fix with lubricant but I've not got around to it. It is no problem to get the guitar in tune and once there it stays in tune. The action is high as noted above. This may be due to some slight warping of the neck. The saddle does not have much room to be lowered. The opinion I had from the London Guitar Studio who had a look at it was that the only possible action to take may be to get a luthier to shave some height off the bridge. I took their view that probably it's best just to enjoy it for what it is - a decent guitar with a relatively high action higher up the fretboard.
- Price: £250 (includes the hard case pictured and music stand)
- Viewing / trial possible: Yes
- Location (nearest city): London, W3

This was my first classical guitar and was bought from Ivor Mairantz in 1996 and played and enjoyed a lot for about 2-3 years. It was left largely unused thereafter. I have another guitar now and this is surplus to requirements and needs to go to a new home.

I've got a Burguet 1A, all I can say is Burguet is a great builder and guitar. Your guitar should be a great deal for someone. Good luck with the sale.
