I know a major German based internet retailer who does not ship to Switzerland any longer, because they would need to apply for CITES permits.
I bought my Bernabe from Siccas in Germany last year and it took them bout 2 weeks to get the CITES permit. So if one knows how to do all the paperwork right then it doesn't seem to be a big deal.

The seller has to include the permit obtained from the govt with the shipment, so my papers are what Siccas received from the govt, not the paperwork they submitted to the govt. But anyway I'll try when I get time

So what is the upshot on this? Is a permit needed? Can the seller get a permit?

What I know for sure that even if the guitar has been made prior to 2017 in IR you need a local reexport certificate to export outside EU. The Certificate is not so a big deal to get specially if the guita has been made prior to 2017, the certificat has to bear the name of the sellers and the buyer. But you have to check if the carriers (Fedex or DHL) do accept cites reexport certificate for shipping which is not the case in some EU countries anymore.

Thank you for your interest. 8)

Unfortunately, I have zero time for paperwork

So I guess only shipping in the EU is possible ( or a crazy lockal pickup combined with Greece / Athens visit :D )

ps. the guitar is also advertised locally and there was some intereset recently

Crazy deal, but its a shame about the CITES, I have enquired quite a few guitars that is really good deal, but in reality the permit process is really difficult, how can you prove aside of the manufacturing label inside the guitar?

Just to clarify a few things, because I read about 2017 January and the EU. I got my new guitar in September 2017 from a Spanish luthier, Indian rosewood back and sides. The guitar did not need any papers whaatsoever BECAUSE it did not cross any EU borders, me living in Austria. If I bought an old second hand guitar from outside the EU I would need CITES, however. So in this case this Ramirez guitar can be sold without CITES (regardless of when it was built) within the EU only. You wouldn't risk to ship a matchbox made of rosewood without CITES nowadays, let alone a guitar.

If it can ship within EU, I can have a friends pick it for me.
Another thing is about the golpe plate, whether it is glued on or easily removed type?

Hi, yes I can ship within EU. You can pm me for details :)

regarding the "golpe plate", it is just the protector from kling-on, made from clear, static cling vinyl ( not glued on of course )

Hi, seems I cannot PM you because I'm new to this forum. Is this guitar still available? I'd consider it.
