Classical guitar by luthier Chris Conery
2018 (New)
650 mm scale, 52 mm nut
German spruce top
Romanillos style, seven fan bracing
Indian rosewood body
Gaboon (West African) ebony fretboard, Indian rosewood bridge
Full, balanced tone with excellent projection, a typically "Spanish" sounding instrument
$3,500 including hard case and shipping (CONUS)
Viewing at my shop in Boulder, CO; three day trial elsewhere

This is a beautiful guitar - master grade German spruce (actually from a tree just over the border in the Austrian Alps), straight grained, dark Indian rosewood, high figure koa bindings, Spanish cedar neck with (now fairly rare) fully black ebony fretboard, Gotoh Premium tuners, 12 hole bridge, French polish, oil finish on the neck.

I love the bracing design Romanillos invented for spruce tops. This guitar was shown at the most recent Boulder Guitar Society meeting and was met with unanimous acclaim. I will have a sound sample up soon on my website: coneryguitars.com

This is a top notch instrument. As my latest client wrote: "One may pay more but this is as good as it gets."

Bought a Chris Conery guitar back in 2014 in these same specs. I am not an accomplished player by any means but I have been playing since the early 70’s. Most recently since 2013, I have become a bit more serious and have bought and sold a number of guitars. Made my mistakes but my guitar made by Chris is a phenomenal find and a definite keeper.

Played a few higher end classical guitars, a $7,000 Ramirez 1a, a $30,000 Hauser III and I must say, my guitar made by Chris leans towards the Hauser. Evenly balanced, full bass and crystal clear trebles. No affiliation to Chris, just a very satisfied customer!

Just curious, why do you call yourself an "amateur luthier?" The guitar looks as professional as they come. Good luck with the sale...I would consider it but I'm waiting for the price to drop on another guitar...hopefully.

Thanks for the complement. I guess I consider a professional luthier one who makes a living at it. In the original sense of the word, an amateur is one who does something for the love of it, whether or not it provides a livelihood.
