Calgary AB

I am the first and only owner of this excellent Ruck guitar, and I have pampered it in my smoke free home. I have used it for recitals and recordings where it has served me very well. Mr. Ruck built this guitar using his own all-wood double top construction method, which produces a very loud instrument that retains the characteristics of a traditional fan braced guitar. It does NOT have the sound, or the volume of a Damman double top guitar. It has a slight radius on the fingerboard which may be partly responsible for its ease of playability.

The sound of the guitar is;
1) well balanced, with very strong trebles matching the power of the bottom end
2) well defined..the inner voices are easily accessible.
Here are some photos, more available on request.

I am willing to entertain reasonable offers.

Thanks for looking!

He will be missed! But we're lucky that he was able to produce so many fine instruments.

For any one who wants to hear a sound sample, here is a youtube video of my Trio's performance of Claude Gagnon's "Alice au pays de merveilles". I am seated in the middle playing the Ruck. It might be tricky to isolate the sound of any one instrument...we were working hard to blend.

Hi Murray,
Was this the Ruck you had at the Guitar Fest West a couple of years ago?

Hey Marcus, nice to hear from you!

Yep, same one. I've had it since 2008, and have used it mostly for trio performances, which is probably where you saw it at GFW. Not doing a lot of performing these days so hopefully it will find a home where it is used more frequently.

I really liked the sound of it when you played it at the festival. I remember when you were on Ruck's wait list for that guitar. Jeez, time flies!
Good luck with the sale!.....and Happy New Year!
