Macpherson, Christina - Waltzing Matilda (arr. Paul Janssen)

Post by Paul Janssen » Sun Jan 26, 2014 12:46 am

Hi All,

"Happy Straya Day Mate" to all my fellow Aussies. I'm about to head to an Aussie day BBQ but I thought I'd record a simple version of Waltzing Matilda to mark the occasion. This is my own arrangement and It's my first audio post so please be kind to me :) . Recorded with Garage Band using the built in Mic on my iMac so audio is so, so.

Enjoy!!

Beauty Mate,
Paul

Thanks everyone for your kind words of encouragement. For those interested I will work on scoring the arrangement and will post it once completed. I'll put a link on this thread as well to make it easier to find.

Paul

Makes me think of the value of simple arrangements well done. This probably should have been our national anthem except the words are about a thief. The reality of my nation was that we started as thieves murders and whores, so it wouldn't be inappropriate. Anyway good job.

Hi All,

I've finally notated my arrangement of this song. Here is the link: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=84274

Note that I've worked a bit more on the arrangement so the notated version is ever so slightly different.

Cheers,
Paul

Thank you for your beautiful and thoughtful playing of this very sentimental tune.
