Calling Berlin....

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

I am not a Berliner but it is well worth spending a whole day in Potsdam! If you visit Sanssouci don't forget to take a potato to put on Fredericks grave.
Thank you manythumbed - I have got to ask about the potato! Sounds fascinating.

Cef
My German relatives informed me that Frederick the Great apparently introduced the potato to Germany! There were five other potatoes on the grave when I placed my potato so I don't think they were pulling my leg.

Brilliant! Thank you - I'll see if I can smuggle a home grown Welsh potato into the country. I can imagine trying to explain myself at the airport!

Below is a link to the fair events, where IFA and in particular Innotrans, the biggest Railway fair in the world, will have a strong impact on price and availability of accommodations ... and don’t forget the Berlin Marathon the weekend before Innotrans.

Excellent! Thank you very much es335 :merci:

Hi Niclas,

Yes, I did - It looks very nice, but my wife would not be happy staying in a hostel type environment. Also we found better deals in Berlin itself, which included en-suite hotels. Thank you very much for your suggestion, though - it was greatly appreciated.
