There may be a few individual luthiers based in Alicante, but the area is better known as the home of several of Spain's larger guitar manufacturers. (Granada, Barcelona, and Madrid are where you'll find most of the top individual luthiers). The town of Muro de Alcoy in Alicante Province -- as opposed to Alicante City -- is home to Almansa, Alhambra, and Perez Guitars. Both Joan Cashimira and Guitarras Bros are located in Gato de Gorgos, also in Alicante Province. There may be others, but these few stand out. You'll need a car to reach them if you're staying in Alicante City and want to visit the workshops, and it's probably best to make an appointment with them first. If you're willing to drive north a few hours to the Valencia area, you'll find Raimundo, Esteve, Burguet, and Sanchis guitars. Have fun. The Costa Blanca is a beautiful region!
