What music are you listening to right now?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

I'm still on my woodwinds kick so right now I'm listening to the great Elaine Shaffer recordings of Bach's flute sonatas on YT. Just beautiful. It's amazing these recordings haven't been remastered and reissued:

I've also been listening to Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms of late.

Mozart piano concertos - nice, relaxing stuff:-

Interspersed with

Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley - heavy, desert (?) rock with detuned guitars (from Josh Homme pre-QOTSA) going through bass amps but also has a few lighter moments:-

'Sir John Smith, His Almain' by Dowland, performed by Daniel Estrem on 8-string. It's played in the lute tuning (3rd string dropped to F#) and with a capo at the 3rd fret. Great piece. And now I'm onto a Sor duet played by Bream and Williams. Nice piece.

William Byrd's choral music, conducted by Carwood, really well done versions of Byrd's choral music, who's been one of my favorites since high school.

By the way, has anyone downloaded files from GuitarCoop? If so, have you had problems playing them? I can't get them to work with my JRiver Media Center software--they don't show up! In order to play them, I have to copy them to an external drive and play them through the DAC in my Oppo Blu-ray, which does not sound as good as the DAC in my Esoteric CD/SACD player. I wrote Guitar Coop, so perhaps they can help. English isn't their first language, though!
