What music are you listening to right now?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

“Duchess”. A cd I bought last night. “Duchess” is a New York based jazz trio that performed last night at The Old Theatre in Oriental,NC. If you like the Andrews Sisters, check out Duchess. Even though the town of Oriental was hit hard by Hurricane Florence, the folks there decided they were ready for a break from cleaning up, and that it was time for some music. The theater was packed.

My latest cd......just got it out of the post office! "The Sound of Torres," by George Sakellariou (music from Bach to the Rolling Stones)
I've been waiting for this one to come out for quite some time! For the recording of this album, he played two guitars by Antonio de Torres. One was built in 1862 (named "La Leyenda" by the owner), and the other was built in 1888 (named, "La Novia" by the owner). :)

Dinu Lipatti's final piano recital, given just a couple of months before his death of Hodgkin's disease in 1950. Beautiful playing and always deeply moving.

A (in my opinion) lovely arrangement of a well-known piece I'm trying to learn. It's not too difficult, even for a beginner like me, if you've done your scales :D :

I think that arrangement (in G major) would work on guitar as well. Look it up on IMSLP.

I'm listening to Odeon a song composed by the mandolin but with a brilliant rendition for the guitar made by Raphael Rabello
