Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

Just heard a wonderful performance from, “Ensemble Melange,”.......six extremely talented musicians. Each person in the audience got a numbered program, and if your number was chosen, you got to pick the next piece. They had Baroque, classical, romantic, jazz, Americana, French, Broadway, and other categories......with a couple of choices in each category. There was an oboe, piano, violin, cello, clarinet and Soprano. :)

Last night we heard, “The Kruger Brothers,” in Meymandi Hall. It was a wonderful concert! They were joined by a string quartet they had never played with.....they said they met them two hours before the concert....and they played several pieces from, “Appalachian Concerto.” (... they had sent the score to them, but hadn’t rehearsed)

Seldom Scene's, "20th Anniversary Concert," a 2-CD set from a 1992 concert. The "Seldom Scene" is a Washington, DC area based bluegrass band that has been around since 1971, and I'm going to hear them tomorrow night in Chapel Hill, NC. The last of the original members...Ben Aldridge..... retired a couple of years ago......the last time I saw him with the "Scene" was in Chapel Hill also......but they've kept close to "the sound" of the original group. :)

Some of the blandest, least colorful playing I've heard in a while. No wonder he won a competition.
