Thank you for this. When we try and find quotes, we seek out the usual suspects, GBS, Churchill, Twain, Marx (Groucho) and often overlook those that have the greatest impact on our lives, our families, friends, teachers, mentors, etc,

My wife, Aishah is one of those people who can strike up and conversation with anyone, anywhere. I asked her one day, how she does it. Her reply was:

"Everyone has a story to tell, you just have to listen."

Well said, Erik and David. One of the best quotes I've come across was from an old guy on talkback radio who attributed the following to his father:

You are 'educated' - not because you've attended some highly regarded university - but because:

(i) You can entertain yourself;

(ii) You can entertain others; and most importantly

(iii) You can entertain a new idea.

At a forum sponsored by the cosmetic industry in Las Vegas one of the scheduled speakers was challenged by a member of the audience to explain why so much money is spent on cosmetics by both men and women when after all "Beauty is Only Skin Deep" . His response was: " You are partially correct but you should remember that "Beauty Is Only Skin Deep But Ugliness Goes Clear To The Bone". :lol:
