What brand of strings do you use most often?
Notice that I did not ask what type of strings you WISH you had... :) but what type you do use more often.

Hanabach Goldin trebles - though I would like to try some other basses.

ALSO - I THINK I might try some lighter gauge strings in general now that I have my hands a little bit back. I find the Goldins are VERY difficult to hammer - especially with my pinky and especially when it has to hammer a fret removed from the rest of my hand etc. ANy suggestions for some lighter guage strings that will still give a nice clear tone on spruce? how about cedar?

Let's see - I used savarez red and yellow cards way back when

I also liked the Aranjuez copper/bronze - but the silvers I just tried are terrible!!

I am just in the process of switching from D'Addario (which performed well for me) to Savarez HT Classic 540 J Long Play ...

So far, I have the Savarez on one guitar just broken in, it took at least three or four days to stretch and stay. I am told they will last a very long time now. So far though, I find them a bit too "snappy" if you get my drift.

Do you think that strings are becoming so specialised that the day may come that you will need a different instrument for every type of music you play! ?

I use d'Addario Pro-Arte mediums

Do other people find when they've found something they get along with they're never tempted to experiment with anything else?

I wouldn't know what other makes to ask for in a shop now!

allright Mr. Delcamp

your vote counts as five votes, so can we kick D'Addario to 90%?

ok - well I had a set ot the Pro Arte HT basses, so I put those on over the Goldin trebles - I can already tell that I'll like these WAY better than those silly Aranjuez silver basses.

I still have a set of the Augustine blue basses - I'll try those next.
