Thanks Adam! I am sure you will enjoy it!Adam wrote:Cool, I will have to check this one out. And I noticed forum member Rob MacKillop is one of the arrangers.
You are indeed Rob, alongside, Toru Takemitsu, David Russell, Scott Tennant and many more, so good company!RobMacKillop wrote:I am? Excellent. Good luck with it, Mathew. I hope you sell millions and make me rich
Cheers Rob!RobMacKillop wrote:From what I heard in the video, the Takemitsu sounds very interesting.
The Courante and Double, as you know, is untitled in the original, and comes from a Scottish/French lute manuscript. But I also came across it in a manuscript for viola da gamba, currently in Manchester Public Library. I'm pleased you recorded it.
"Celtic" is a word I always have a problem with, as it could mean anything - the Celts covered most of Europe, including Spain. We tend to identify it with Scotland and Ireland, but, of course, England and Wales are no less Celtic countries. It would be nice to see future recordings in this series looking further afield. Traditional tunes from the Basque region, for an instance, are fascinating. I'd love to hear some of them arranged for guitar.
Anyway, this looks like a beautiful recording, both the playing and the sound recording, so I wish you all the best with it!
Thanks Jack, I am really proud of this recording so I hope you will enjoy it.Jack Douglas wrote:Well, I'm excited! Beautiful. Will order before 6 Dec!!
