Losy, J. A. - Folias/Ciacona - Baroque Guitar Video

Post by kidneykutter » Sun Jan 07, 2018 10:59 pm

Two pieces from the Moravsky manuscript attributed to Jan Antonin Losy (Logy) (1650-1721). First is called a Ciacona and is actually variations on Folias. Second is a real Ciacona. Manuscript says pieces are for Gytarra and Mandora. I have neither so here they are on Baroque Guitar.

Really nice, Daniel. A CG arrangement of the "Folias" work was published here on Delcamp a couple of years ago, and is a lot of fun to play. The second piece here reminds me in some places of "El Noi de la Mare", and also of "Watkin's Ale".
